Residential Structure Fire

On Saturday morning, October 22, 2016 at 6:52 a.m. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire. The fire department was notified by an alert neighbor that saw fire and smoke coming from the home.

First arriving crews were on the scene at 6:54 a.m., and found a two story residential home with heavy fire conditions in the rear. With the assistance of the Algonquin Police Department it was confirmed that all occupants had safely exited the home. Due to this call being at shift change the fire department personnel response was almost doubled, which assisted in a quick fire attack that limited damage to the home. The fire was confirmed extinguished at 7:10 a.m. Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Investigators remained on the scene to investigate the cause and origin of the fire.

No firefighters or civilians were hurt. The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was assisted by the following agencies; Algonquin Police, Crystal Lake Fire Department, Carpentersville Fire Department, Cary Fire Protection District, and Fox River Grove Fire Protection District.
