On Friday afternoon, February 19, 2016 at approximately 3:00 p.m. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched to the Target Store at 750 South Randall Road in Algonquin for construction debris blowing from the roof. The fire department was alerted by the store and called 911. This store and surrounding stores were evacuated for precautionary reasons.
Fire crews remained on the scene to assist in securing the construction materials on the roof, the store was reopened shortly after.
The Algonquin-Lake in the Fire Protection District has been responding to many wind related
emergencies this afternoon.
No firefighters or civilians were hurt.
