Commercial Structure Fire, 901 Cary Road, Algonquin.

 

Commercial Structure Fire

 

 

On Friday evening, July 15, 2022 at 6:11 PM the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for the report of a structure fire at 901 Cary Road in Algonquin. Firefighters arrived on scene at 6:16 PM and found a large volume of fire in the rear of the vacant structure.  Crews made an aggressive attack from the exterior and extinguished the fire by 6:42 PM.   The fire was called in by a passerby. Two firefighters were treated on the scene and released. No civilian injuries were reported. 

 

The cause of the fire is undetermined and is still under investigation. At the current time the fire is being investigated by Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire District Investigators, Algonquin Police Department, and the Illinois State Fire Marshal. A damage estimate is not yet available.

 

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection received assistance from the Carpentersville Fire Department, Fox River Grove Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, Hampshire Fire Protection District, Algonquin Police Department, and the Algonquin Water Department.
