Residential Structure Fire
On Thursday, February 3, 2022 at approximately 1400 hrs. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire in the 1400 block of Yosemite Parkway in Algonquin. First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene and found a two-story single-family home, with smoke and fire coming from an attached garage. Crews initiated an aggressive fire attack to the involved structure, as well as, checking the rest of the home for fire extension. A thorough search of the home and garage was completed. Thankfully, no one was home at the time of the incident. The fire was under control within approximately 15 minutes. No firefighters, civilians, or pets were injured. At this time the home is inhabitable.
The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Algonquin Police Department, Cary Fire Protection District, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, SEECOM Dispatch Center, and the Fox River Grove Fire Protection District. Village of Algonquin plows applied salt to the street due to water run-off from the fire attack crews.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated. A damage estimate is not yet available.
