19 West Oak Street, Lake in the Hills 

Residential Structure Fire

On Monday, March 29, 2021 at approximately 10:53 am the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 19 West Oak St in Lake in the Hills. First arriving fire crews arrived on the scene within 6 minutes and found a single story home, with smoke coming from the roof of the home. Crews initiated an aggressive attack into the attic area and the fire was under control in 5 minutes. The occupants were not home at the time. The fire was called in when a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the roof. No firefighters, civilians or pets were injured.  

The Algonquin – Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was aided by the Lake in the Hills Police Department, Huntley Fire Protection District, Crystal Lake Fire Department, SEECOM Dispatch Center, and the Fox River Grove Fire Protection District 

The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.   A damage estimate is not yet available.
