Motor Vehicle Accident with Entrapment One Patient Air-lifted
On Friday, April 24, 2020, at approximately 6:58 PM the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a multiple vehicle accident with entrapment near the intersection of Algonquin Road and Route 25. Firefighters arrived on scene at 7:01 PM and found a two vehicle T-bone style accident with one female victim trapped. Fire Crews utilized extrication equipment and were able to free the woman from the vehicle. Once the victim was removed from the vehicle the patient was stabilized until the arrival of Life Net Med-Vac Unit. The air craft landing zone was in the soccer field directly behind Saint Margaret Mary School in Algonquin. The patient was then air-lifted to Advocate Condell Medical Trauma Center, in Libertyville, IL for life threatening injuries. At this time the condition of this patient is unknown. Another patient was transported by ground to Northwestern Huntley Hospital with minor injuries.
