Residential Fire

 On April 22, 2011 at 11:16 a.m. the Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District was dispatched for a structure fire at 1366 Grandview Court in Algonquin. 

First arriving crews were on the scene at 11:20 a.m. and found heavy smoke coming from the garage. Fire crews initiated an aggressive attack and declared the fire under control in approximately 15 minutes. Crews remained on the scene until 2:19 p.m. investigating the fire and securing the home.  

Investigators on the scene determined the fire to be accidental in nature. A damage amount is not yet available.

No civilian or fire department injuries were reported. All residents were evacuated from the home prior to fire department arrival.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District received assistance from Huntley and Crystal Lake Fire Departments.

The Algonquin-Lake in the Hills Fire Protection District would like to take this opportunity to remind everyone to check their smoke detectors regularly.
